Scott was a United States Marine with 2nd Plt F.A.S.T. Company (Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team) and 1/1 HMG Plt. While in the Marines, he served as an Instructor for basic marksmanship, CQB, M.O.U.T. operations, Close Combat (L.I.N.E.), small unit tactics, and Vehicle Operations Convoy Security.
Scott taught employment of and qualified with the M-16, M-203, M-9, MP5N, Colt SMG, M-590, M-249, MK-19, M-2, M-60E3, M-224, M-252, SMAW and AT-4.
After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Corps, Scott went to work for Firearms Training Systems- Military Marketing/ Training. While at FATS, Inc. he taught foreign and domestic military/L.E. units through the use of the FATS Weapon Simulators. Scott helped develop a Use of Force/ Force Continuum training system for Ontario Police and NYPD which incorporated escalation/de-escalation of force and shoot/ no-shoot scenarios.
After leaving FATS, Scott became a Georgia P.O.S.T. certified officer with the City of Marietta and Dekalb County Police Departments. He served as a road officer/ FTO as well as Street Level Robbery/Drug Suppression officer. Scott completed a K9 tracking course and met all requirements for intermediate and advanced certifications. Scott was certified in High Risk Warrant Service, Advanced Tactical Shotgun, and all Advanced Firearms courses.
Presently, Scott is a Certified Officer with the Department of Homeland Security, serving as a Firearms/ Tactics Instructor.
Scott is an active competitor in IPSC/USPSA.
